DISCOVER THE OTTAWA RIVER

At Ottawa Turbo Tubing (OTT), you can learn to paddle on the Mighty Ottawa River (The Kitchi Sibbi River). OTT staff will guide you, making it easy and safe for beginners. This intro lesson covers essential safety skills, gear, and paddling techniques. Whether you want a relaxing ride or an adventure, this course has the basics you need. Participants will learn about the equipment, including the types of small inflatable watercraft, life jackets, and paddles, and how to properly size and use them. The course also gives a brief introduction to river currents, structures, river running safety protocols, and essential skills for navigating gentle rapids (Class 1 and 2) and calm flat-water sections of river. Emphasis is placed on the importance of understanding water conditions, recognizing potential hazards, and ensuring everyone’s safety while tubing. Additionally, instructors will guide participants through how to maintain balance, control the tube, and enjoy the river's natural beauty with ease. By the end of the course, participants will feel confident in their ability to safely enjoy a river tubing adventure at OTT. This course combines instruction with hands-on practice, ensuring that participants leave feeling prepared for their next river tubing experience.
